Assam Department of Elementary Education started inviting online applications on 5 March 2023 for the Teachers’ Eligibility Test for Primary and Upper Primary Levels. To fill up a total of 5320 vacant posts of Assistant Teachers in Lower and Upper Primary Schools of Assam. Out of the total posts released 3887 posts are for the Lower Primary Teacher and 1433 posts are for the Upper Primary Teacher and the same process ended on 25 March 2023.
The Assam Teacher Eligibility Test took place publicly on 30 April 2023 in multiple exam centres under the supervision of the Department of Elementary Education, Assam. Qualifying this test makes you eligible to apply for a Govt Teacher post in the state and many schools these days also require a TET pass candidate as a private school teacher. The pattern for the Assam TET exam is as follows:
- A total of 150 multiple-choice questions(MCQ) were asked in 4 different sections.

- The time given was 2:30 hrs to solve the exam.
- The questions asked were in Assamese, Bengali, Hindi, and English language.
