Kerala TET Eligibility Criteria

Educational Qualification

Education qualifications will be described according to different categories:

For Category 1 (Lower Primary Classes):

  • Candidates must have passed 12th or its equivalent from any recognized board with a minimum of 50% marks and must have a 2-year Diploma in Education or 2 years Diploma in Elementary Education.
  • Candidates must be qualified for 12th or its equivalent qualification with 50% marks and completed 4 years of Bachelor of Elementary Education from any recognized institute.

For Category 2 (Upper Primary Classes):

  • Applicants must have completed graduation and 2 years Diploma in Elementary Education or a Trained Teachers’ Certificate or possess one year of Bachelor in Education.
  • Must have passed 12th with 50% marks and 4 years Bachelor of Elementary Education.
  • Four years B.A.Ed or B.Sc.Ed passed can also apply.

For Category 3 (High School classes):

  • Candidates must have completed graduation in BA/ BSc/ B.Com with 45% marks along with a B.Ed degree.
  • M.Sc.Ed candidates also apply.

For Category 4 (Languages Teacher):

  • Candidates who wish to apply for the language teacher vacancy must have knowledge of Arabic, Hindi, Sanskrit & Urdu language. Specialist teachers & Physical Education teachers as mentioned in Chapter XXXI Kerala Education Act can also apply for the KTET exam.

K-TET Application Fee

The application fee is mandatory to be paid at the time of submission of the online application. If any candidates, do not pay the examination fee then the application form will be rejected by the board. The application fee has discussed below:

  • For Candidates who belong to General, OBC categories: ₹500
  • For SC/ST candidates: ₹250
