The Staff Selection Commission well known as SSC conducts the written test for Constable (GD) in Central Armed Police Forces (CAPFs), SSF, Rifleman (GD) in Assam Rifles, and Sepoy in Narcotics Control Bureau. Candidates who manage to get the qualifying marks in the written exam qualify for the physical test which is conducted by the CRPF.

This year, the written exam took place from 10th January to 14th February 2023. The officials have not made any update regarding the physical test and SSC GD Result announcement but it’s expected that the written test result will be made available in April month and the PET/PST process will be initiated in May 2023 but take it with a pinch of salt as quite uncertain until said officially.

To get selected for the said posts, aspirants are required to prepare well for various levels of the selection process viz Written Test, Physical Efficiency Test, and Physical Measurement Test. The SSC released a notification for the posts of Constable (Ground Duty) in the Central Armed Police Forces (CAPFs), SSF, Rifleman (Ground Duty) in Assam Rifles, and Sepoy in the Narcotics Control Bureau. A large number of candidates have applied via the official website of the SSC which is located @ ssc.nic.in.

SSC GD Selection Process

The recruitment authority divided the selection process into multiple phases such as the written exam, and PET/PST. In the first stage, candidates will be called for the written examination. The officials will call almost 5 times aspirants for the Physical Efficiency Test. The final result will be prepared on the basis of marks obtained in the written test and PET/PST combined.

  • The written test is CBT (Computer Based Test).
  • All the questions shall be Multiple Type Questions.
  • Candidates will be given a time period of 60 minutes to solve the exam.
  • For each wrong attempt, 0.50 mark will be deducted.
