Uttar Pradesh Public Service Commission (UPPSC) released a notification in the month of March to recruit candidates for State Civil Services. Through this recruitment drive a total of 173 vacant seats are to be filled. The Preliminary Exam for the Upper Subordinate Services was conducted on 14 May 2023.

The various post under this program are of Deputy Collector, Deputy Superintendent of Police, Block Development Officer, Assistant Regional Transport Officer, Assistant Commissioner, District Commandent Homeguards, Treasury Officer/Accounts Officer, Assistant Labour Commissioner, Senior Lecturer DIET, Assistant Commissioner Industries, Statistical Officer, Assistant Accounts Officer.

The UPPSC will release the results within 2-3 months after the commencement of the exam. It is expected to be released in the month of July 2023. Thereafter the selected candidates who qualify for this test will be called for the further Mains Exam and then for the Interview.
The UPPSC started inviting online applications for these various posts on 3 March and accepted all online applications till 6 April 2023. The Prelims exam is conducted successfully and now soon the results will be published.
UPPSC PCS Exam Overview
This Preliminary Exam was divided into two sections and the section-1 exam was conducted from 9:30-11:30 a.m. and the section- 2 exam was conducted from 2:30-4:30 p.m. on the same day 14 May 2023. Each question was of 1 mark in Section- A, and of 2 marks in Section- B, the time given was 2 hours for each section.

PCS Cut-off Marks
Candidates need to score at least a minimum of 33% marks to qualify for this exam. Candidates who qualify will be later called for:
- Mains Exam
- Interview (100 Marks)
Candidates have to appear for all these steps and need to get good marks at all steps to get selected. The actual cut-off list will be released along with the exam results. There are also some factors that affect the minimum qualifying marks:
- A number of candidates appeared for the exam.
- A total number of seats offered.
- Exam difficulty level.
- Last year’s cut-off trends.
- Reservation Policy.
These factors stated above may directly or indirectly impact the minimum required marks list.
